 We just returned from the 7th Moniaive Folk Festival. It was our third visit to the town and as expected we had a great time. The festival was the busiest yet and there were 72 entrants for the piping competition alone......MULLIGANS BAR, AMSTERDAM

 Last night we joined our friends from the Garden Sessions to celebrate their 2nd birthday at the Pleasance Cabaret bar in Edinburgh. We met the Garden Sessions at the Wee Folk Club in Edinburgh a few years ago and since then they have featured the band on their fortnightly show a couple of times. There is...... |
If the concert at the Catholic Hall was anything to judge by, this year's festival has been truly inspiring. Girvan regular Sean Donnelly and newcomers The Paul McKenna Band were among the line up of immensely gifted singer songwriters on stage Saturday night.....
Last week the Paul Mckenna Band (minus Ruairidh unfortunately) were playing in Mulligans Irish bar in Amsterdam. This was a second trip for Ewan, Paul and David, but a first for myself. Old and new friends were met and we also came across some great musicians. Of course we couldn't keep ourselves to Mulligans alone......
Last weekend we played for the first time at Girvan Folk Festival. Paul, Ewan and Seán have been attending the festival for years so it was great for them to be on the stage this time. We were all hoping to hear the Lúnasa concert on Saturday night but of course we were on stage at another venue at the same time....
